This week was a pretty darn
good week for Elder Tucker #2. We had a baptism which was great! I got to lay
down in freshly mowed grass, it smelled wonderful, my comp took a picture so
when he sends it to me. I will send it to you guys.but anyways STORIES!!!!
1. Zone Conference We got
to hear testimonies from four Elders going home and each one of them was super
powerful! I have really bonded with these Elders in Kenya and they will
be missed! I was glad to see how much
their testimonies have grown since I met them the first time. Just some
wonderful good people, you will be missed men.
2. Who said church had
to be boring??
So I am not sure why
but in church this week people just looked super down. I was so excited
to be there cause I love going to church and seeing the fruits of my and my
companion's efforts. Also partaking of the sacrament. So at first
everything was good, sacrament was super awesome, as always. But then
everyone looked as if no one wanted or need to be there, especially those on
the stand. So in order to make some smiles, i started making funny faces
at those on the stands and the little kids around me ( I love little kids,
especially making them smile, fastest way to change an atmosphere). Well anyways
I kept making facing at the branch president and all the speakers on stand. The
speakers they were smiling and laughing and that got everyone else smiling and
having a good time, just a little wake up. Then the meeting when on
great. At the end of sacrament meeting, we were told by an investigator. You
know at first I felt super uncomfortable, everyone looked so sad, but by the
end I can see this is a happy peoples church. So tip to everyone how
about we show the world we are a happy church and make some faces at the
speakers haha.
Also I might be going
to Kisumu to teach a deaf investigator, so that would be interesting. The
elders from there were like, we have a super awesome investigator, but she is
deaf and only knows Kenyan sign language and a little of American sign
language, so president what can we do? “Elder Fraga was like, can we
teach her in sign language if we know it”? President was like “yeah of course,
does anyone know sign language"? Turns out I am the only one! So possibly
will be transferred to Kisumu, or I might stay here, who knows.
It is cool that B. is
going to Joberg. I loved it there, SA is a neat place.
Have a good week!!!
Love
Elder Tucker
