OY,OY,OY ! MAJA

To explain the title my companion and I play this game, here the sun is super hot!  We must stay hydrated so when we get water,  we usually just yell "oy,oy,oy! maji" and throw it at the companion who doesn't have any water, it is a fun game. It is a spin off of the game I played with Jeron all the time.

So this week had a few interesting stories actually.  I got to do some baptismal interviews. Met a drunk  on the way and was told my race would be exterminated ( drunks are the best). Ate a donut for the first time in seven months, the mall is a wonderful place! Ate every part of it of a goat you can think of, every... part but it was good. Climbed a coconut tree and it was fun!

Lets start with the goat:
We had an elders quorum activity and the Elders quorum ended up killing a goat.  It was actually super fun my job was to make sure the crows didn't get any of the meat. I learned how to clean everything, again everything. Then we made a crap ton of ugali. We invited everyone who walked by to help us eat it all! This drunk man showed up and literally ate meat till he passed out on the ground. He stayed there for about four or five hours. I randomly checked to make sure he still had a pulse and was breathing cause of being a lifegaurd. Super duper fun. Then we taught everyone about the priesthood in Kiswahili, it was sick.

FBI!
So while on the way to District meeting I was trying to see where the other elders were. I ended up standing in front of this building we had decided to meet at, then we would all go to the church.  Apparently with the conversation I was having on the phone, and with the whole mission outfit this drunk guy, goes "AHHH FBI !!!!" Then he starts running away at full speed shouting "WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!!". It took all of my will power not to chase him just to see what would happen.

Still having some fun times here in Kenya, miss you guys have a fun week!

Uncle ( all the kids in my compound call me uncle don't know why but it stuck)

Jeron might have a cool hat, but his game is weak. A list of my fashion today:
Tri-colored bandana ( orange, peach, pink)
                    Running shirt
A fancy cloth called an arafat (one of the greatest things I have gotten here/)
Flower swimsuit cause its comfy as crap.
                    Masai Tire Sandals.

                                  Beat that bro!

My Steed.

Elder! Check out my new horse!

Welcome welcome, so this week was pretty good!  Lots of biking and doing random stuff; all my clothes are intact so that is super cool!  Craziest thing though, whilst biking through an area with a ton of coconuts I saw an african swallow pick up a coconut and fly towards England!  One mystery solved! (Per mom-Monty Python reference. The twins for an unknown reason memorized that movie). Anyways here are some more adventures for you.
Story number 1: More Coconuts
Elder Zingoni hastn't had a lot of coconuts, and they are flippin cheap here so we ended up getting some.  Anyways so when I ate my coconut I started trotting around my house clanging them together, than yelling at my comp to admire my steed.  He was extremely confused.  I still have not explained myself but randomly I just run around the house with my coconuts and every time I reach the room I want I shout "DISMOUNT!" It has been super fun.
Story number 2: Still not immune from moving vehicles even in Kenya!

I have said before matatus are crazy drivers, so it makes life on a bike very interesting.  Whilst riding through Bamburi town on Saturday I was going by a matatu who didn't look in his mirror, then started going towards the side of the road I was on.  My bike has pedal brakes which I am not used to; so I try to slow down and get out of the way but before I can my bike tire hits his door. I go tumbling after rolling about fifteen feet I got up, went grabbed my bike, made sure everything was working on it, and it was all good.  Then I checked myself and all I got was a small scratch on my arm. Then all these drunk guys start yelling at the conductor for me it was super sweet, one good thing about being a white african ( I am not a mzungu anymore cause I speak the language) is the drunks love you! If needed they will fight for you. (Explanation-Teron was out running prior to his mission and jumped on a moving car that luckily didn't hit him because he jumped on the hood. He was only bruised up. Thank goodness.)
Other than that week has been pretty okay thanks for all you guys do.  To all of you who are Dads out there, Happy Fathers Day.  I know that my dad has been the most influential person in my life. I love him so much for it! Dads keep doing what your doing!

Pizza, Ice Cream and Lava

This week we had zone conference and so we had Chyulu Elders for a few days which is always super fun! I know you are here for some crazy stories from Kenya so I'll do my best.

Story number one: The floor is lava!

So Elder Fuller and I were reunited for a few days since he was transferred to Chyulu.  While he was here he stayed at his old stomping ground of Bamburi.  One of the nights, we started a pretty legit game of the floor is lava.  I survived and Elder Fuller Survived but our companions didn't end up making it.  Randomly both of us stared at the ground and jumped on the couches and screamed the floor is lava, then proceeded to climb from the bottom floor upstairs to the bathroom in the guest bedroom to activate the "drainage switch" It was very intense and required some very precarious situations over boiling Lava.

Story number two: Pizza, a blessing to the world
So in Kenya pretty much the only place we can get pizza is this place called pizza inn.  However it is super expensive so we have to wait till Tuesday to get it cause they have an awesome deal on Tuesdays.  The other catch is these shops are only in big cities, so Chyulu doesn't get the chance for pizza cause it is straight bush.  Anywho so it worked out that we had zone conference on a Tuesday, so all the Chyulu elders and me and my comp went to get pizza, much happiness was shared, and much pizza was destroyed.

As for teaching stories we didn't get many appointments this week, because with zone conference we were really only in our area for two days, so we were meeting all people we needed to strengthen and so not many fun stories on that side of things.

Anyways, have a good week, till next time, bike fast take chances, watch out for mangoes, they can be hazardous.

Elder Tucker

*Mom has looked through Elder Tucker's companions older posts but I can't find the story about Mangos in his words. So here is a paraphrase as to why Mangoes are hazardous. Missionaries are told to wash and at times boil the outsides of all fruit. The missionaries noticed that the Mangoes on the tree looked good. They did just what Teron would do and polished the germs off, ate a Mango and were very very sick. Teron's companion taught him about the Mangoes so Teron did not have to have the same experience.

Elder Z and his bike he named "Grace", My bike named "Jasmine", 1st baptism, and 2nd baptism it's been a good week!

Tender Mercies of the Lord

So sometimes tender mercies of the lord come in many many different ways. they can come as an answer to prayer, or a little help in answering a question, and even sometimes it can be a small tin shack with a hole in the ground.  Let's just say I ate a pretty big breakfast on Friday, and we will leave it at that.

So as for stories today I got a couple good ones haha here you go

Story number 1: Fun with Bikes
So this was our first week proselyting with bikes and I am getting used to using different roads, because we don't have mountain bikes,so no shocks.  So one day whilst trying to make it to an appointment we went through part of the jungle.  and I knew there was a fairly muddy part. I thought if I went fast enough I could make it, and I was right! I made it through, but I did not account for the lip at the end, so my bike tire nails right into this four inch lip at about twenty five miles and hour cause it was a downhill run and I launch forward, but not over the handle bars.... into the handle bar.  Needless to say I was not sitting very pretty the rest of the day.

Story number 2: Pants
Well I am still working out however my pants have been getting a little tighter recently, but not a lot just enough to fit like skinny jeans.  Well on our way to a dinner appointment ( coincidence I think not) I arrive and there is a little girl who loves me, she is about two.  So she runs up to me saying taka taka taka and she starts climbing me.  I think she is absolutely adorable so I let her. However there is a little drainage ditch we have to walk down that can get pretty slippery. I told her, sitaki wewe kuanguka, unawesa kutembea? Which means I don't want you to fall can you walk? So as I go to put her down I hear that oh so great sound "RIIIIIIIIIP" right up the butt.  We keep going to the lesson I placed my bag so that it covered the rip. I sat down fast and never moved from that spot.  Sadly though those were my favorite pants. but hey good story. as far as I know only me and my companion noticed haha.

Oh yeah here alone in the past week we have given about seven blessing to members, and everytime it drains me physically. l give the blessing then am really dizzy for a while luckily it isn't me talking during those times. On Sunday we gave this man a blessing who had Malaria, and while I was I knew I am not saying anything, literally my mouth was filled it was sooo cool.

Anyways sorry if this doesn't make sense I am a little tired and have been having trouble thinking clearly lately, this morning I prayed for Jeron to receive his stickers? J apparently you are getting stickers and I want them to come to you haha.  Love yall have a great week

Bonsue golden nuggets bonsue,
